Not so frustrated now :)
I started again with the documents I lost. I started with my organisation plan and I drafted up a new logo. Well until I get my designer to design a new one
Take a look I'd like people to let me know what they think. The more constructive feedback the better!
The Mouse is kind of small and messy. I'll get my designer to fix that. I've investigated what solution to open the site with and set up a "Coming soon!" landing page.
I'm quite interested in using drupal. Mainly because I've used Joomla! for a number of years now and it's good to diversify. Theming for drupal seems a little more confusing. Drupal 7 (not released) has easier working interface. One of the first things I didn't notice when first playing around with drupal, was the fact the backend and the frontend are basically the same. This is quite new to me but quite a good thing. The backend of Joomla! people often don't theme so it stays the same. The default format becomes boring after a few years believe me
The drupal community pointed out that it's pretty ideal to use the package. I love the drupal icon... pretty random I know!
I really am passionate about this project though, and I'm really looking forward to helping people with their computer problems.
TechMouse will need staff. TechMouse is a voluntary organisation and all contributions are done out of passion. If someone should join the team they will be able to add their activity to their CV/Resume and your employer can contact me (notify me first).
I'll speak more about what the site will feature in the future. Someone asked me about Ferrari Fans this week. To clear that up, I'm still awaiting a response from Ferrari's copyright and domain infringement agent.
If you want to help out and find out more about contributing click here. I really need to get round to completing my MCDST certification study. If anyone has done that before please let me know how you found the exam.
and.... I'll probably be really frustrated about something else next time I write.....
Frustration, Frustration and Frustration!
Don't you just hate when you lose a computer file? (or anything for that matter)
I sat down with the intention of making some sort of progress with my old project techmouse.org. Although it appears this won't be fulfilled tonight. It appears I (in my infinite wisdom) accidentally deleted all .psds and plans of the organisation altogether somehow. Despite me thinking I had backed it up using google docs and my external hard drive
At least I still have the logo! Seeing as I can't find the .psd I might design a better one tomorrow. I have increased my knowledge of photoshop since then. Of course that's after I finish working with my clients. Everything feels so rushed

PFFFFFT! I feel so frustrated. Dunno why I feel so fragile at the moment.
At least my MCDST (Microsoft Desktop Support Technician) book came today. Might just crack on with reading that. Hopefully I can crack through the course pretty quick. Really need this certification. It doesn't seem too hard, got 60% without any study.
Off to bed now.. gonna have a read then snuggle up. Night readers!
Ubuntu 10! Simply wow!
I've not been following the Ubuntu (operating system) project for a while. Randomly decided to head back over the other day and saw ubuntu 10 has been released. Last time I looked ubuntu 9 was on the scene. I didn't gel with ubuntu 9 hopefully 10 will be different.
I'm downloading it and will report back my opinion here
From what I see on site it looks like the system has had a major overhaul. Simply looks amazing!!
University, What a way to waste two years.
I've wanted to talk about it all for a while. So, Many people have asked me why I left and some people have even said I will be worse off. Time will tell but right now I've felt the best I ever have! I don't think university was ever for me. However, I was excited when I started. I thought it's a change and I expected so much. To be taught, the vessel they call a brain filled.. where I could get lots of hand on practical experience. Taught by lecturers who were passionate, loved their job and cared about the students.
The experience wasn't all bad but one or two lecturers stood out as being poor. Reading from powerpoints and working from course-notes into workbooks wasn't what I had in mind. Maybe I was a fool?! Paying over £3000+ in tuition fees though I expected better.
F12010 finally and being generally busy
Last week I couldn't wait. I became a little kid! Counting down the days till the F12010 game was released. I received my copy on release day Friday. My feelings on the title are mixed.
Having waited so long and followed it so long I feel that it's a great game, and has a lot of potential. I've tried some of the new circuits out and even tried my hand at a 7 season career with full race distances in my lotus. I tucked into that straight away and thought it would be great. However, It was clear in the race things were not as they seemed. Starting that first race and driving around for 50+ laps. I experienced almost every bug listed here. After waiting so long for the game to say I was a bit disappointed was an understatement. However I enjoyed driving the new cars and when the bugs didn't pop up!
Codemasters (the people who make the game) must realise something is up. They had a meeting yesterday (Monday) and there is speculation of a patch.
Which they will have to release because the game is far too buggy. Not to digg into codemasters but what were their test team thinking? Some bugs are pretty obvious and I know I could have detected them if the game was thrown in front of me before release.
Ah well.... just hope a patch comes out soon!
I've been massively busy working on the business and even now have a pile of things to do. A lot of things are being worked on. Mostly now site polishing and getting grammar and marketing correct.
To give you a taster of the new things being worked on at The MonkeyPC... take a look. Our offerings will be the best available on the UK market
When I get some free time I do finally plan to watch inception.... till next time stay safe!
A day to be happy about in many ways…
Today, I finally pre-ordered F12010 for xbox 360 from shopto.co.uk for £31.85 (including free delivery) quite a deal I must say. I couldn't find it cheaper anywhere else.
The MonkeyPC has a few new clients on board and our business bank account has been finally set up.
A tweet really hit me today and made me remember life is about more then just money. This lady is amazing. I've always thought of doing humanitarian work at some point and her tweet really inspire me to go ahead and just do it. It's late so I can't make this as long as I want to unfortunately
I will make a post on here that's a bit more meaty soon! I promise
Danicar, If your reading this. I think it's pretty amazing what you do and I've read your post. I'm happy because someone like you has reminded me that some things are more important then others. You are a inspiration to many.
Peace & Goodnight
Busyyy!
I've been so busy the last few months, with The MonkeyPC, searching for jobs and annoying people.
I hope to get some time to update this a little bit more soon
Wow what a eventful month!
This month has been really busy for me. With a unfortunate and worrying illness in the family and even more progress with my business.
I have a business advisor and been to many seminars back in London about starting up and I have a real roadmap for these 3 weeks. To finish market research, finalise my business plan and submit to banks. The main priorities after then will be structuring and sorting the premises with the council. The website really needs tweaking because it wasn't really structured to handle a store online and offline! In reality it was created before any plans were firm and this was a mistake. One that won't be made again. I'm drawing up a website plan too.
Work has become somewhat ridiculous but I will speak about that when I become detached from that company (then I can't be fired)
Must get to sleep now... got work tomorrow again. Not long left till I leave Oxford for a bit.
Btw, If you live, study or work in Oxford please fill out this quick questionnaire for me. It will help me with my market research and you will be entitled to a money off voucher when we launch.
Peace!
Me & The MonkeyPC
I can't think of what to write about really. I will be blogging about The MonkeyPC later on in this week or month. I have lot of exciting things planned regarding that and have had some feedback which has come in handy.
I'm still working hard at Sainsburys in Oxford. I only have a few weeks left until I leave.
Other then that not much has changed personally. However, on the business side things are almost ready. The draft business plan is complete. The financials are a little weak and need a second going over.
There is still a lot to do but progress is coming on.
Lovin' the weather hope it stays sunny.. stay tuned for more updates
Doing lots of work hours
I will be doing lots of work hours for a while so won't get to update my blog much. Still love all you readers!
